There is no better place to work than in public schools. Children are our future, and quality education is their right. It is in the music classroom that we best learn about collaboration, practicing our skills, enjoying the arts, and creating. Excellence in scholarship is important, and it's the job of the music educator to support that excellence by providing students a break in their day to explore, experience, and create music and movement. Especially in the general music classroom, music should be used to tell stories and experience literature in a unique way. Music in schools also offers opportunities to bring the community together and share themes of unity, kindness, joy, and positivity.
