Bio
Max Calton Swartout is a music educator of students in grades K-5 at Kent City Schools in Kent, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor of music in music education. While at OU, Swartout studied voice with Debra Rentz and Kelly Burns. He was a member of the Ohio University University Singers under the direction of Bradley Naylor from August 2018 until December 2021 when his residential coursework ended. He completed his professional internship at Meigs County Middle School with Metra Peterson. In the Spring of 2022, Swartout was a member of the Ohio University Choral Union as a singer and student conductor under the direction of Dr. Dominique Petite.
Swartout is earned his master of arts in cultural foundations of education from Kent State University in 2024. He is currently pursuing a juris doctor form University of Akron School of Law.
